My passion for uplifting women and making them feel more confident in their own skin began with my own fascination for cosmetics. The story goes as far back as my childhood when I saw my grandmother applying her foundation with a wet sponge and my mother painting her lipstick on with a brush. The weekends of my early teens were spent rooting through the clearance section in my local drugstore for reduced items to splash my pocket money on. My evenings were spent practising new looks on mine and my sister's face. I even got put in detention at school for applying lipgloss with care and precision during a maths lesson! Whilst pursuing academia through my A-Levels and University degree, I knew that I had to nurture my love for makeup artistry at the same time, so I set up my beauty blog HauteFuture which has allowed me to work with some of my favourite beauty brands. Although I have never been formally taught how to apply makeup on the faces of others, I have invested masses of free time into what ultimately became my profession, allowed me to thoroughly enjoy what I do.
As a freelance mobile makeup artist I mainly cover the Staffordshire area although would be more than happy to travel to areas outside of the county for the added fee of travel expenses (petrol or train fare).
I use products from a variety of brands including but not limited to Urban Decay, Daniel Sandler, Revlon, Estee Lauder, Rimmel, Dior, Barry M, Chanel, Max Factor, Benefit, Rimmel, Guerlain MUA, Maybelline, MAC, Coastal Scents, NARS, Ecotools, Real Techniques and Royal and Langnickel. It is important to me that each of the brands I work with resist cruelty to animals.
Hygeine is of high importance to me so my brushes are given an intense clean with anti-bacterial brush cleanser between clients. I use disposable mascara wands and lipgloss brushes and never apply lipstick directly from the bullet. Similarly, I ensure that my hands are clean before touching a client's face.
